Stellar Medical Group serves as a clinical teaching facility for medical students and nurse practitioner students.
Dr. Ammunje provides clinical mentorship as a preceptor for students from:
Through supervised clinical experience, students develop skills in patient assessment, clinical reasoning, and effective communication. We are proud to support the next generation of healthcare professionals while maintaining our commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Clinical rotations begin at 8:15 a.m., Monday through Friday. Students are expected to arrive on time and be ready to begin their clinical duties at 8:15 a.m. Students must also post their rotation schedule on the whiteboard in the physicians’ room before the start of the rotation.
Students are expected to wear clean scrubs or professional business attire appropriate for a clinical setting. Clothing should be neat and presentable, and all tattoos must be covered during clinical rotations.
Students are expected to bring a stethoscope, otoscope, laptop and charger, and notepads.
Attendance is mandatory on all assigned rotation dates. Students must notify the practice manager at least 24 hours in advance of any requested schedule changes.
Students are expected to treat every patient with compassion, empathy, dignity, and respect. Listen attentively, communicate without judgment, respect cultural differences, and introduce yourself as a student. Honor each patient’s preferences and right to decline student participation.
Students must follow HIPAA requirements and Stellar Medical Group’s privacy and security policies. Access patient information only as authorized for assigned clinical duties and supervised learning. Discuss patient information only with authorized individuals in appropriate, private settings.
Do not photograph, record, or share patient information on social media, personal messaging services, or unapproved applications. Keep patient identifiers out of personal notepads, protect login credentials, and lock computer screens when unattended. Report any suspected privacy or security incident immediately to the preceptor or practice manager. Students must complete required privacy training before accessing patient records. These expectations reflect HHS guidance on protecting patient information.
